DepEd-NCR and Maginoo Shrine Club Join Forces for Inclusive Education
The Department of Education – National Capital Region (DepEd – NCR), in collaboration with the Maginoo Shrine Club, successfully implemented the distribution of wheelchairs to various recipient schools as part of our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in education. This initiative was aimed at supporting students with mobility challenges and ensuring they have equal opportunities for quality education.
The program was conducted on January 20, 2025, with participation of the DepEd-NCR officials, school representatives, project development officers, and the leadership of the Maginoo Shrine Club.
Mr. Ariel Fronda, in his inspirational message, emphasized the importance of extending support to differently abled learners. He highlighted the commitment of the Maginoo Shrine Club to fostering inclusivity and breaking barriers for students with physical disabilities. “Education is a right, not a privilege,” Mr. Fronda stated. “Through this initiative, we aim to provide students with mobility challenges the tools they need to succeed and thrive in their academic journeys.” He also expressed gratitude to DepEd-NCR and recipient schools for their cooperation and dedication to this cause.
Representatives from Batino Elementary School actively participated in the program. Ms. Maria Luisa Farro and Ms. Jeanette Naido, received the wheelchairs on behalf of their school. Their presence underscored the positive impact this initiative has on the lives of their children needing mobility support.
The distribution program was further supported by the active participation of Project Development Officers from various Schools Division Offices. Their role in facilitating communication, identifying recipient schools, and ensuring the successful delivery of the wheelchairs was integral to the program’s success. Their collaborative efforts ensured that the resources reached the intended beneficiaries in a timely and efficient manner.
The wheelchair distribution program exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and shared responsibility in addressing the needs of our learners. The Regional Office extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Maginoo Shrine Club, recipient schools, and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of this initiative. Together, we are making strides toward an education system that is accessible, equitable, and inclusive for all.
